Asking for Label Quotations

Weyfringe are able to provide many sizes of plain labels from stock and almost any shape, size and colour to request. The list of label sizes are taken from our stock of label cutters. Many label sizes are on the shelf ready to ship for next day delivery however if you need a different size or some pre-printing then we will need to ask you for some additional information including:

Colour - Tick the box which best meets your requirements. The system defaults to plain white if no action is taken.

Material - Paper is the default and is based upon an industry standards white semi gloss label with permanent adhesive suitable for thermal transfer printing. Synthetic – lots of options are available to allow you to match your application. Vinyl, metalised, polyethylene, polyester etc. We also supply direct thermal labels.

What is the difference between Thermal Transfer and Direct Thermal labels?

Thermal Transfer labels need a ribbon produce an image. This combination produces a much more robust and lasting image than direct thermal. Thermal Transfer labels are suitable for most requirements including box end, component, shelf and food labelling.

Direct Thermal labels are coated in a heat reactive layer which does not require a ribbon to produce an image. The image is however quite susceptible to friction (rubbing) and strong light and or heat. Direct Thermal labels are commonly used for short shelf life food products.

Quantity - This is based on thousands. We do not supply labels in hundreds. It is not usually cost effective to set up a printing press to produce very short runs of pre-printed labels so for this reason we suggest a minimum quantity of 5000 labels for pre-printed label orders.

Adhesives - This will depend on your particular requirement.

Our standard permanent adhesive will provide for good adherence to most surfaces including card and board and clean metal surfaces. A label with permanent adhesive will usually need to be destroyed to remove it. This adhesive can be used at temperatures between –20ºC and 70ºC although if blast freeze resistance is required Deep Freeze adhesive is recommended.

Removable adhesive is usually specified for the labelling of glass or items which for aesthetic purposes will need the labels removing without leaving a messy finish or residue.

Deep Freeze Adhesive is for applications where blast freeze resistance is required as well as for storage conditions between –40 ºC and 70ºC.
