Direct thermal labels do not require printer ribbons and instead use a chemical reaction instigated by the print head temperature to create print.
Commonly used for short shelf life labelling direct thermal labels are ideal for fresh food labelling. |

Longer term exposure to light will cause print to fade and shorter term exposure to sunlight and other forms of heat can result in the entire label turning black. If these scenarios may be experienced or a long life label is required Weyfringe recommends Thermal Transfer labels used with the appropriate Ribbon. |
